Smile at Yosemite by CocoaConf 2.0

In 2014 Apple named their OS after Yosemite, one of California’s beautiful national parks, known for Half Dome, the iconic mountain many will recognize from their OS X 10.10 desktop wallpaper. The Kleins running CocoaConf thought this was the perfect excuse to have a conference in this beautiful space. This was a friendly conference full of camaraderie and inspiring talks which, if you missed them, definitely check out the videos.

In 2015 Apple named OS X 10.11 after a section of canyon wall visible from the floor of Yosemite valley known as El Capitan, a popular climbing spot for big wall climbers. Hence, the March 2016 CocoaConf Yosemite 2.0. The videos are coming, but you can catch up in pictures, of both people and place, with the CocoaConf Flickr account.

TextExpander, by Smile, is proud to have sponsored this second conference, along with some of our favorite fellow devs, Omni Group, DevMate, and 1Password.

The engaging list of speakers ran from Jim Dalrymple of The Loop, talking about how you are responsible for the quality of your products, to Christa Mrgan, working to bring some civility back to the wasteland of online comments, to Jean MacDonald, of AppCamp4Girls, comparing the current tech climate to early 20th century Russia.

Reflection

In the spirit of the conference, take a moment for yourself. Sit back, think about where you want to go, where your passion is, and if it’s not your job, take it up as a hobby.

Don’t be afraid to be mediocre at something. You might find it relaxing to enjoy doing something without the pressure of having to be perfect.

Get a good night’s sleep.

Finally, the CocoaConf Yosemite slideshow, enjoy.
