Help: Organize documents

Rename

Rename the title of a document.

  1. Open Documents view.
  2. Tap on the name of a document. A window will popup.
  3. Type the new name of your document.
  4. Tap “OK” to finish.

Auto-name

Upon exit of a newly scanned document, a rename window will appear and remind you to rename your document.

  1. From Documents view tap “Tools” > “New Document Settings”
    • Switch on Always prompt to name to be reminded to name a document upon document exit.
    • Switch on Include date to include the date in the default document name.

Re-arrange pages

Reorder the pages of a multi-page document.

  1. From Documents view tap on a document to open it. You will see the pages of the document tiled as thumbnails.
  2. Tap and hold on a page. Wait a second for it to be selected.
  3. Drag and drop the page into a new position.


Folders

    Create a Folder

    1. From Documents view tap and hold on a document until you see it select.
    2. Drag the document on top of another document. When you release, a new untitled folder is created containing both documents. You can rename that folder by tapping its name.

    Navigate into and out of a Folder

    Navigate into a folder:

    1. Tap that folder.

    Navigate back to Documents view:

    1. Tap the folder name in the menubar at the top of the screen.
    2. A menu appears showing “Documents”, tap it.

    Move a Document to a Folder

    1. Tap and hold the document you wish to move.
    2. Drag it to an existing folder, and drop it.

    Tip: Tap “Edit” then tap multiple documents to select them and move them all at one time.

    Move a Document to Documents view from a Folder

    1. Tap “Edit” in the upper right. Tap a document.
    2. Tap down and drag that document onto the folder name or icon in the menubar at the top of the screen. A menu appears showing “Documents”. Drag and drop the document onto “Documents”.

    Note: PDFpen Scan+ does not allow empty folders. If you empty out a folder the folder will disappear. You cannot create a folder within a folder.


Add / Delete

    Add new scans, imported images or PDFs to a document.

    1. From Documents view, tap on a document to open it. You will see the plus + in the lower toolbar.
    2. Tap it to reveal “Camera”, “Photo Library”, or “Import from…” to copy a document from a cloud service.

    The new scan or import will appear as another page(s) in the current document.

    Delete a document.

    1. Open Documents view and tap “Edit” in the menubar.
    2. Tap on a document(s) to select them.
    3. Tap the trash trash icon icon in the menubar.
    4. Tap “Delete # Documents” from the popup window.
    5. Tap “Done” to finish.

    Delete a page in a document.

    1. From Documents view, tap on a document to open it. You will see the pages of the document tiled as thumbnails.
    2. Tap “Edit” in the menubar.
    3. Tap on a page(s) to select them.
    4. Tap the trash trash icon icon in the toolbar then tap “Delete # Pages” in the popup.
    5. Tap “Done” to finish.
