PDFpen Help: How to Find Answers

Need PDFpen support? There’s a good amount of resources out there to help you get answers to your most pressing PDF editing questions. In this post, we list all the places you can go to get PDFpen help, whether you want to find out about a certain feature, learn how to perform a specific action or troubleshoot.

PDFpen Help Resource 1. In-App Help Menu

Need PDFpen support? Start here. PDFpen’s Help menu concentrates all of PDFpen’s help resources.

Located to the far right of the Menu bar, between Window and the AppleScript icon, it’s your one-stop-shop for all things support.

From the Help menu, you can:

  • Locate a menu item
  • Find specific content within PDFpen’s online manual

You can also access:

  • PDFpen’s online manual
  • PDFpen’s Welcome window
  • PDFpen’s support form
  • PDFpen video tutorials
  • PDFpen for iPad & iPhone’s App Store page
  • PDFpen’s Read Me! file
  • PDFpen’s License Agreement

One of the handiest things about PDFpen’s Help is that it shows you the exact location of a tool or feature under its corresponding menu so you don’t have to dig around for hours trying to find it.

Enter the name of the tool in the search field. When it appears as a result for “Menu Items,” click it. You’ll see a big blue arrow pointing to it, as shown below:

PDFpen support resources are listed under PDFpen's Help Menu.

Use the Help menu to learn to use PDFpen as you go. Whenever you get stuck, just enter one or more relevant keywords in the search field.

PDFpen Help Resource 2. Video Tutorials

Video tutorials are a great way to learn how to do specific things in PDFpen.

We have a few great video tutorials for both PDFpen and PDFpenPro, available from both the PDFpen and PDFpenPro support pages and the PDFpen for Mac and PDFpenPro for Mac playlists in our YouTube channel.

They’re narrated by David Sparks, aka MacSparky, who, in addition to being the master of all things Mac, has a wonderfully soothing voice and a reassuring way of showing you how to do stuff. He’s pretty much our David Attenborough of PDF editing.

We’re working to make more videos available soon.

PDFpen Help Resource 3. Frequently Asked Questions

How do I upgrade to PDFpenPro? Why can’t I register PDFpenPro? What’s the difference between PDFpen and PDFpenPro? Does Smile offer discounts to students?

If a PDFpen question is gnawing at you, there’s a good chance it’s occupied the minds of other PDFpen users, too. To find out, you can check out our list of frequently asked questions, or FAQs, here.

PDFpen Help Resource 4. Online and Offline Manual

If you’re the type who likes to know the ins and outs of the software you use, you’ll want to dig into our online and offline manuals.

As we mentioned before, the online manual is available from the Help menu. To access it, open PDFpen and choose Help > PDFpen Help.

If you want to, you can also download the PDF version of it here.

The manuals include all you might ever want to know about PDFpen, including a list of features; information about how to register and install; a guided tour of the menus and main tools; instructions for editing, working with, and saving PDF documents.

PDFpen Help Resource 5. Take Control of PDFpen Ebook
